Headshot Company recently delivered staff headshots for Paddington-based engineering consultants, Firstco. Firstco provide consultancy, delivery and maintenance of real-time control and monitoring systems- they’ve delivered on projects for clients such as Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, London Underground and Khalifa Port to name a few.
Firstco had an existing style of headshot that they wanted us to fall in line with- black and white head and shoulders images, against a white backdrop. The shoot took place at the DoubleTree Hilton, in Kensington, during an all-staff event at the hotel.
We were shooting in one of the hotels’ meeting rooms, which happened to have a white wall, saving time on set up. Due to the low ceilings, we changed our usual go-to style from a vertical clamshell set up, to a horizontal lighting set up, using the curved reflector to add a nice wrap-around fill light opposite the key light. Firstco wanted a pure white background, so we hit the wall with a strobe positioned behind each subject.
As we were photographing a fairly good-sized team (50 people), the camera was tethered and we asked participants to register prior to shooting. This meant that the files were all renamed correctly instantly, and we had everyone’s email address to distribute the images. The retouch and edit was completed the day after the shoot, and everyone had their images within 24 hours of having been photographed. Speedy work!

By default, we include all of your RAW (unedited) images from your staff photography sessions, and a fully retouched image of each person. For smaller teams we include two retouches of each person. You get unlimited usage rights to the images, so can use them for whatever purpose you require. We will send you the images in whatever format/file size you need (for example, if they are for LinkedIn profiles, we will send them under 8mb in size).
