As the world’s number one headshot solution for businesses, we are constantly looking at new ways to improve our service. This is true for both our in-person shoots, and our virtual headshot service

We were the first company in the world to offer virtual headshots, and to this day still offer what we believe to be the best solution for getting professional headshots without the need to schedule a session with a professional photographer.

Today, we are very pleased to announce that the best virtual headshot service in the world just got even better!

Working in partnership with Topaz Labs we have now added a new step into our process of editing virtual headshots. Topaz Labs have created groundbreaking upscaling software that is able to upscale the base images our virtual headshot clients upload to us by up to 600%.

By adding this tool to our arsenal, it means that the quality (which was already very good!) of our virtual headshots will now be on-par with base images that had been taken on a D-SLR.

As the pioneers of virtual headshots as a whole, we have developed by far the best solution. Many other companies have since popped up offering virtual headshots, but their service (we’ve tried them all) is incomparable. So what is it that makes our service the best?

Higher Resolution Base Images

Even before we introduced Topaz Labs to our workflow, we were insuring that the base images we were working on were not taken on webcams or front facing cameras. Many virtual headshot providers offer a ‘session’ whereby they direct you over a video call. This is a big no-no as webcams and front facing cameras are extremely low quality. The other issue with video call virtual headshot sessions is that they still need to be scheduled in. With our free guide in hand, you can self-shoot your base image in your own time.

Everything is done by an award-winning retoucher

Once a virtual headshot is uploaded to us, it lands in the inbox of our in-house, multi-award winning digital artist, James. The images are all edited by hand, and we do not use any AI tools to retouch our images. Again, the finish this produces compared to other services (where the images are never even seen by a human in some cases!) and the retouch is individual to each person.

We handle the process from start to finish

Arranging headshots for a company can be a mammoth task, but virtual headshots are much more straight forward to organise. However, you can still find yourself having to chase team members to submit their images. This is why we implemented our reminder system, that emails people at set intervals to remind them we’re waiting for their image- meaning you can just put your feet up!

Our experience is second to none

Headshot Company was born in 2016 and is the brain child of photographer James Kenny, who started out as a photographer back in 2001. James has retouched headshots of thousands of people, and has won multiple awards for digital art. Many other companies offering virtual headshots are simply software companies that have developed programs which automatically cut out images and swaps out backgrounds. This often results in poor cutouts (AI reeeeally struggles with hair!) and errors within the images.

So there you have it. If you are looking for a virtual headshot solution for your company, please do get in touch. Our client list includes the likes of the BBC, Rockstar Games, Forbes, Mercedes Benz and Cambridge University, so you’ll be in good company!
